Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Providence Arax Chapter

The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Providence “Arax” Chapter is a historic, grass-roots philanthropic branch serving the Armenian-American community in Rhode Island. Originally established as an auxiliary group in 1904—predating the formal inception of the global ARS network—it became the third official ARS chapter in existence in 1910. Its core purpose is to provide humanitarian aid, social services, and cultural preservation. Operating frequently alongside its sister chapter out of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence, the “Arax” Chapter organizes vital blood drives, local holiday gift distributions, and highly successful global relief campaigns to fund medical and emergency aid in Armenia and Artsakh.
