Hairenik

The Hairenik Association is a monumental media institution and a foundational pillar of the global diaspora, based in Watertown, Massachusetts. Originally established in New York in 1899 before moving to Boston shortly after, its central purpose is to preserve the Armenian language, document modern national history, and provide an independent political voice for the diaspora. Operating out of its dedicated Hachikian Family Hairenik Building since 1985, the association anchors its community by publishing Hairenik (the world’s longest-running Armenian-language news publication), managing its English-language counterpart, The Armenian Weekly, safeguarding the invaluable Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) archives, and serving as a central regional hub for major civic and youth organizations.
