SOAR New England Chapter
The New England Chapter of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR) is a foundational regional branch of the global SOAR network, originally launched in February 2009 to serve the vast diaspora across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine. Its central purpose is to provide institutionalized humanitarian relief to orphaned, abandoned, and severely disabled Armenian children. Serving as the historical framework that catalyzed later dedicated local branches in Boston, Providence, and Portland, the chapter anchors its community through specialized fundraising dinners, silent auctions, and cultural galas—directly financing basic needs, bedding, and therapeutic resources for children living in orphanages and boarding schools across Armenia.
