Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church

The Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church is a landmark parish under the Armenian Prelacy (Catholicate of Cilicia) located in Providence, Rhode Island. Consecrated in 1940 inside a historic 1892 Romanesque Revival building, its purpose is to witness the ancient Orthodox Christian faith and preserve the heritage of genocide survivors who historically dubbed the community the “Citadel” (mitchnapert). The parish fosters spiritual growth and cultural continuity through its Mourad Armenian Saturday School, youth sports leagues, and vibrant annual traditions like the Providence Armenian Festival.
